About

Canterbury Gaming Convention, Kent’s premiere gaming event brought to you by the team at Dice & Destiny, has returned!

After a decade of being in the industry, how did Darius Twyman and David Moore come together to put on Canterbury Gaming Convention?

Darius spent many years with his partner and daughter drumming up tabletop gaming interest in the Thanet area, taking over pubs and clubs on their quiet days to bring in more turnover. The group expanded to such a size that Darius put on his very own larger scale events to meet demand. David Moore has owned a tabletop gaming store in Canterbury called Dice & Destiny for nearly 10 years, and supported Darius with these larger scale events for a big chunk of that time. Dice & Destiny also ran large scale events covering more of the South East of Kent.

Covid struck.

Darius lost his venue. David put his events on hold.

In 2021, Darius was employed by Dice & Destiny as their store manager. The connections this gave Darius to the gaming world only meant that events in Canterbury needed to return.

David agreed and “AUGUST 2025” was put in the calendar for the return of these larger events we love running.

“Canterbury Gaming Convention” would be the name, but we needed a venue!

After 6 years of hiatus, we wanted to come back with a bang! We found a venue large enough to fit 200+ gaming tables at the University Of Kent Indoor Tennis Arena.

As a store, Dice & Destiny are lucky enough to travel up and down the country to similar events in Birmingham, Harrogate and Edinburgh, but wanted to put something on more local for those stuck in the South East of the country.

Game designers, game publishers, artists, authors, musicians, enthusiasts all come together to create wonderful experiences for everyone.

Canterbury Gaming Convention is more than just an event, it is a community safe space to escape the real world and have fun for a whole weekend!
